What is a UEFI? It is an abbreviation of the term Unified Extensible Firmware Interface. It does pretty much the same job that the BIOS do, i.e. connecting the computer’s firmware to the operating system. Due to the versatility of this interface, it is a rumor that it might replace the BIOS itself in future. Unfortunately, if you are a user of Toshiba laptop, then there is one issue that stops the users from creating a UEFI drive. It is mostly because of the stringent nature of InsydeH2O bios. While there are other ways to bypass this obstacle using the CSM boot mode, it usually defeats the entire purpose of why UEFI even exists.

Fortunately, there is a way. If you seek to boot your Toshiba laptop using a UEFI flash drive, our experts of Toshiba Support Australia has a better way to fix that issue. See, the way we see it, to make sure that you can easily boot the system using a particular type of media, you have to make sure that there is no error while you create the media itself.

To that end, confer to the following steps to create a Flash Drive first:

  1. Get a pen drive with at least 2 GB of hard disk space
  2. Once you have gotten it, you need to get rid of all the data already present in it, in addition to formatting it with the following specifications in mind:
    • Make sure that the file system is the FAT32 Mode
    • Make sure that you make it as the first partition and activate it

Note: While there are several tools available to accomplish the formatting process, make sure that you use the generic yet efficient disk part.

  1. Mount the operating system that you want to create the boot disk with. (there is a specialized tool that comes for this purpose known as the Rufus)
  2. The boot media will now be created

Now, to Boot the System Using this Media

  1. Turn on your Toshiba laptop and get into the BIOS settings
  2. Reset these settings to the default configuration
  3. Turn the SecureBoot feature on the interface on
  4. Turn the FastBoot feature of the interface OFF
  5. Save and exit these settings using the “F10” button.
  6. Restart the system again, only this time press and hold the “F12” key while you do it.
  7. You will now enter into the Boot menu -> Select the USB as the boot media

The boot media will now be created. If the procedure is not sufficient for you, then feel free to confer with our experts via the toll-free Toshiba Helpline Number UK +44-2080-890420.
